Flying Skull pink

Artist’s statement for "Flying Skull" by Alexander Palacios When I photographed this skull, I was struck by its mortality and hardness  a symbol of death and finality. Yet, I felt compelled to transform this mortal, harsh object into something beautiful and positive, full of energy and life."Flying Skull" is my attempt to breathe vitality into the inanimate, to celebrate the energy that can emerge even from the most unexpected places. It embodies the paradox of existence  how death and life are intertwined, how from endings, new beginnings can arise. This piece remains one of my favorites because it captures that duality so vividly, inviting viewers to see beyond the surface and embrace the powerful beauty within mortality.

This skull is from Papua Asmat Tribe.
